PREVIOUS STATE OF THE ART
CURRENT STATE OF THE ART |
For more than a decade we have offered state of the art technology for video endoscopy. The main components were the endoscope with the camera head sending the signal via a 7 ft. fragile cable, containing more than a dozen even more delicate wires, to the camera control unit. This turned out to be the Achilles heel of the total system. While the competition is still struggling with a solution we reduced the black bulky box to a size that handily fits in the operator’s palm, mounting directly to the endoscope. The whole camera weighs less than 4 ozs. Functionally it is totally automatic. Simply turn the power on and proceed. The camera automatically adjusts the white balance and shutter speed to the output of the light source and the operative field being viewed. |
Soakable Endoscopic Video Camera/Light Source
F L S introduces a new soakable endoscopic video camera/light
source utilizing cutting edge camera technology from VideoLabs, Inc. This
camera is a revolutionary approach to the form and function of endoscopic
cameras. The camera head is now the complete camera! An ultra
compact housing (1.9" diameter and 1.7" deep) (48mm x 43mm) contains all the
electronics that older cameras spread-out with a remote head camera, fragile
camera cable and bulky camera control unit (CCU or "black box"). The whole
camera weighs less than 4 ozs. (114gr). Functionally, this camera is totally
automatic. Simply turn the power on and proceed; the camera automatically
adjusts white balance and shutter speed to the output of the light source
and the scene being viewed. The MedCam Pro Plus has all the resolution,
sensitivity, and dynamic response of more expensive old technology remote
head CCD cameras. The MedCam Pro Plus is shown above with its compact metal
halide light source and optional soakable endocoupler in a typical endoscope
configuration. This combination provides a very cost effective system for
all forms of video endoscopy.
